Effective Friday, April 5th, the Pedal Co-op will be suspending our compost pick-up service.
Begining in phases over the next two weeks, Bennett Compost will be taking over our weekly compost pickup routes. We are coordinating the transfer with Bennett Compost to make this transition as seamless as possible. We are very happy to be working with our new friends at Bennett Compost, a locally owned business with values that align well with our values of zero waste, urban composting, local economies, and food access.

We've got a new hang out everyone! It is called the Dirt Factory and it sits on a small tract of land at 43rd & Market. It is an unassuming spot, but as the name (The Dirt Factory) suggests, the space is the biggest compost generator in West Philadelphia and it's also our designated West Philly compost drop spot.

E-Recycling (Jan 2nd-Jan 7th)
This week we will be collecting broken & obsolete electronics for e-recycling! Because these products should not be simply dumped into the trash can with the rest of your waste, they often sit around offices and houses cluttering up usable space. E-waste is the fastest growing waste stream in the country, so we know you have some you are looking to get rid of. In 2012, rid yourself of those items and use your space more productively.

The plan sets forth five comprehensive goals, 14 measurable targets, and outlines several specific strategies to reduce energy consumption, resource waste, and promote a healthy outdoor environment for every Philadelphia neighborhood.
